at the CREEK.  :/  Oh bother, I sure HOPE I can capture the MAGIC of this story as it completely unfolded itself Mon. morning, 11/27/17, in the documentation room of our Therapy Department at MCNRC (Moultrie Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center) here in St. Augustine, FL…USA!!!

In backing up a few days, I must confess that Thanksgiving Day found me standing firm, a bit disgruntled, in the #1 spot of the “TURKEY LINE”  at Golden Corral in Palm Coast, FL.  :/  Our family’s Thanksgiving Day tradition for 6+ years now.

Our first trip through the buffet found us waiting in line for TURKEY, along-side 2 disgruntled ladies who cut in line before my children while awaiting the re-fill of TURKEY in its empty bin.  🙁  Danielle and Chase both departed the line…disgruntled.  😉  Not “ME,” though.  I wanted TURKEY, so I remained in line until the re-fill was complete and, oh yeah, “THIS” lady got her TURKEY!!!  WOO-WHOOOOOO!!!

I ate slow, folks.  Slower than usual.  Hhhmmm…it was such a good, Good, GOOD meal!!!   I, OF COURSE, wanted to go back through the line and get seconds of the exact same plate I just consumed.  So OFF I went…  Hhhmmm…wouldn’t you know it!!!  The TURKEY was ALL gone AGAIN!!!  BUT…”I” was FIRST in line this time!!!  WOO-WHOOOOOO!!!  So I stood right there in “READY” position and I waited for the TURKEY re-fill I just KNEW would soon be coming as it had before.  And I Waited.  AND WAITED… 🙁  (Pppsssttt…I REALLY wanted more of that “TURKEY”).  UGH…

The elderly disgruntled man next to me began making sarcastic comments.  I, however, STOOD MY GROUND…and did NOT move.  “I”…???…???…???…was waiting for TURKEY!!!  And “I”…???…???…???…was #1 in line!!!  Folks could just move on around me if they did not want to wait for the “TURKEY,” but as for “ME”…???…???…???… “I” was waiting!!!

So the elderly disgruntled man then said, “There’s TURKEY on the other side, [lady]” as he turned around and hollered to the growing line behind us:  “SHE’S NOT MOVING!!!”  :0  WHAT???!!!???!!!???!!!   I quickly turned around and retorted with, “I’m waiting for the “TURKEY”!!!”  And I then made a disgruntled comment to the elderly man as he and his wife stepped around to pass me in line.  ON THANKSGIVING DAY, 2017!!!  :/  OH  NO, PLEASE SAY IT ISN’T SO.  “SO!!!”  🙁

I FINALLY returned to our table AFTER filling my plate and recounted the incident to my awaiting family.  I was STILL a bit disgruntled as we joked about BOTH “DIFFICULTIES” encountered in the buffet line at Golden Corral on this Thanksgiving Day, 2017!!!

I felt ashamed of my“SELF”…IMMEDIATELY!!!  And repented.  Right Then.  RIGHT THERE.   “FORGIVE ME, FATHER.”  It took awhile, but I was finally able to “LET IT GO” and forget about it UNTIL…

MONDAY MORNING… when co-workers started inquiring about each others’ Thanksgiving Day celebrations!!!  Eeeccckkk!!!  I recounted the story about our experiences at Golden Corral and we ALL roared in laughter about the disgruntled lady (me) holding up the buffet line while waiting for more “TURKEY”!!!

Oh, Victoria, Victoria…such an AMAZING young member of “TEAM BLUE” at THE CREEK!!!  She actually “HELPED” me put my shame to REST as she repeatedly remarked how “TEAM ALLEN’S” 2017 Thanksgiving Day dinner at Golden Corral sounded like an  episode of “SEINFELD”!!!  HAHA!!!  JUST ANOTHER DAY IN “JILL’S WORLD,” folks,  as we ALL continue to struggle while simply seeking to survive “LIFE”.  😉  Thank-you, Victoria, for completely cleansing me of the anger, guilt and shame that STILL lingered somewhere DEEP inside this place called Jill-ville.

WOO-WHOOOOOO!!!  “TEAM BLUE”…???…???…???…comes through…AGAIN!!!  Oh, how I love, Love, LOVE my “J-O-B” at MCNRC!!!

P.H.P., folks.  People Helping People…to survive “LIFE”.

Give the BEST of yourself for “JUST” today…”EVERY” day!!!
