Tues., 08/31/16 was a “CRAZY-” BUSY morning, folks. A very, Very, VERY “CRAZY” and “BUSY”… hurry, Hurry, HURRY-UP and go, Go, GO…”GET ‘ER DONE,” kind-of-morning!!! BAM!!! 8:00 am dental appt. Then straight to the grocery store from the dentist. Back home to pack “MY” lunch alongside both kids packing theirs. BACK OUT THE DOOR… stopping for gas…ON MY WAY TO WORK.
While re-capping the gas-tank, my thoughts were suddenly distracted with loud yelling out by US 1, which is very busy at this time of morning during the week days. I quickly turned and noted 2 teenage boys with one bicycle, standing in the gas station’s entrance yelling at a car driver who apparently almost struck the boys as they were traveling North in the bicycle lane of the South-bound traffic lanes. :/ OUCH. Now, “THAT”…???…???…???…was a “DIFFICULT” situation for ALL of them amidst the chaotic and busy traffic conditions.
The driver of the vehicle rolled-down his window and was conversing with the two boys, however, ALL HEARTS WERE RACING…as you can imagine. The 2 boys were yelling with passion fueled by their adrenaline “RUSH”. And the driver, I’m sure, was stunned into a state of shock by that near-miss-accident.
Now, “I”…???…???…???… have been “THERE” before, folks. On BOTH sides of a similar situation. I could “FEEL” each person’s internal reaction to the situation. The fear, anger, disbelief, and shock…ALL permeated my being as I rushed over to assess the situation. The driver slowly pulled out onto US 1 and drove away as I neared the scene now occurring at the site of this “no-“accident scene at the main entrance to the gas station. I so wanted to ensure the driver’s emotional/physical well-being AND… to offer or share words of praise, as well, for the grace of God experienced Right There. RIGHT THEN. I was NOT, however, given the opportunity to do so. I did say a quick prayer for him, though. Right Then. RIGHT THERE…as I watched him drive away. In S-L-O-W M-O-T-I-O-N. THANK-YOU, JESUS!!! AND ALL GLORY BE TO GOD!!! AMEN.
Both boys were in the midst of their adrenaline reactions as I approached them. Neither one of them were physically injured during the incident. Thank-you, Jesus. We soon went our separate ways AFTER acknowledging God’s glory AND an awareness of how quickly things can turn ugly in the midst of our current hurry, Hurry, HURRY-UP and go, Go, GO PACE of living “LIFE”. Hhhmmm…think, Think, THINK…
DISTRACTION ALERT!!! DISTRACTION ALERT!!! SLOW DOWN. You move too fast. (Yep, I’m singin’ Simon & Garfunkle’s, The 59th Street Bridge Song, “Feelin’ Groovy,” in Jill-ville. Oh yeah. And soundin’ pretty good, too!!! Just sayin’.) 😉 Please try to chillax, folks!!! Enjoy the ride along your “JOURNEY” from “HERE” to “THERE”. And REMEMBER: we will NEVER know which tomorrow will be the day that NEVER gets here. Hhhmmm…think, Think, THINK…ABOUT IT!!! (A tribute to my late brother, Bob. R.I.P.)
GO TEAM!!! WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!!!
P.H.P., folks. People Helping People.
Give the BEST of yourself for “JUST” today…“EVERY” day!!!
ALL GLORY BE TO GOD!!! AMEN.
