HOW CAN I “HELP”…

what I can’t begin to understand???

OUCH!!!  A Vietnam vet…sacrificed EVERYTHING…for his country.  Suffered tremendously, with both physical and emotional wounds.  The acute pain and wounds have healed.  The chronic pain and scars remain, both physical and emotional.  He is struggling, folks.  Struggling to survive…“LIFE”.

Hhhmmm…think, Think, THINK… Boy, I feel so VERY blessed for the opportunities I have to meet and touch the lives of so many individuals from different walks of life.  It amazes me how alike we ALL are.  Different folks.  Different stories.  Same or similar struggles.  Same goal(surviving “LIFE”).

So, tell me…what can I offer a Vietnam vet that may “HELP”???  Some therapeutic exercise and activities???  Yep!!!  Functional mobility and transfer training???  DOUBLE Yep, Yep!!!  And after listening to him speak for awhile, I felt compelled to say:  “God is with you.  Your load is too much to bear, for ANY man.  Just give it ALL to the Lord.  He can handle it.  YOU…don’t have to.”  BAM!!!   I do think he felt better after being reminded that he is NOT alone.

And THERE you have IT, folks.  “THAT” is how I can HELP what I can’t begin to understand.    I can offer rehab. services to “HELP”  physically and emotionally AND I can “HELP” spiritually by sharing the greatest healing power and the greatest love of ALL forward…the Word.  Amen.

QUOTE OF THE DAY, Sat. 7/18/15:

“LIFE GOES BY SO QUICKLY…NO MATTER HOW LONG IT IS.”

“LIFE GOES  BY SO QUICKLY,” I commented to a patient at work today.  And he added:  “NO MATTER HOW LONG IT IS.”  Hhhmmm…think, Think, THINK…

A male patient of mine shared some of his “LIFE” history with me today, Sat. 7/18/15.  He spoke fondly and proudly of his most treasured memories.  Happy times with his wife to difficult times in WWII.  Funny…but all I could say was:  “LIFE GOES BY SO QUICKLY” as I selfishly thought about how quickly “MY” life, at 50, is passing by.  🙁

BAM!!!  Without missing a beat he added to my comment with:  “NO MATTER HOW LONG IT IS”  as if he were adding to my thought about how quickly “MY” life is passing by in ending with reference  to himself and how quickly his “LONG” 88 years has passed by.  He was smiling, though.  And that smile meant that everything was “OKAY”.

WOW!!!  “THIS” was AMAZING, folks.  I cannot explain the feelings I experienced at that very moment, but they were VERY SPECIAL.  Yep, I bonded with another patient at work today…  😉
