MGO!!! It is now 11:53 am, ET. 1/1/15. DOUBLE MGO, MGO!!! I awoke in the wee hours of this morning, between 3-4:00 am to a recurrent thought… “MEETING PEOPLE WHERE THEY’RE AT,” which became the previous post, published between 5-6:00 am this morning, 1/1/15.
“MUSIC… CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS” came to mind as I was recently lying in bed “thinking”… while arousing for “THIS”… the second time TODAY… 1/1/15. I am feeling a need to blog… AGAIN!!! 😉
MUSIC… CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS.
I can remember many years ago, living on George St. in a place called Fayette, Ohio. A one (1) stop-light town… surrounded by country… “FARMING” country. I ALWAYS “looked-up” to my oldest sister, Laura. “SHE”… was amazing. Still is. Now, Laura listened to the BEST music… and “HER” style… became “MY” style…
My FIRST (1st) encounter with the “DEEPNESS of MUSIC,” getting myself “LOST” in that place called “JILL’S WORLD” involved Barry Manilow’s, “Even Now” and “This One’s For You”… back in the mid-late 70’s. MGO!!! My first, significant, boyfriend… Tony. Those songs still touch my heart today… 30+ years later. Memories are ALL that are left. No pictures. No “things”… to remind me. NOTHING. Those memories will remain in my heart, head and soul for a lifetime. And onward into Eternity…
My next significant encounter with the “DEEPNESS of MUSIC” came between the ages of 21-28-ish. Just prior to my car accident in 1986, continuing until I tried to leave my past behind while setting out on my current : “JOURNEY”… looking for life…looking for my “LOST” self which has since become: “MY SPIRITUAL LIFE JOURNEY”. The most influential songs of that time included songs by John Cougar Mellancamp, Peter Frampton, Huey Lewis & The News…esp., “I’m So Happy To Be Stuck With You”. There were many, Many, MANY songs that “MOVED ME” back in those days. All of them were attached to the significant man in my life at “THAT” time… CURTIS GUY STUCK.
OUCH. My heart aches, folks. STILL… AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. Please refer back to the previous posts: “Just Another Day…”-7/9/14; “Why”-7/10/14; and “Why, Part II”-7/10/14. May you R.I.P., Curtis.
And today??? The “DEEPNESS OF MUSIC” also attaches itself to my husband, my soul-mate, my earthly rock, Christopher Allen. Significant songs, including only two (2)of the handful, are Whitney Houston’s, “I Will Always Love You” and Justin Timberlake’s, “Mirrors”.
“The Climb,” however, by Miley Cyrus is my GO-TO song. For strength. For Faith. For motivation that fuels my determination to continue moving forward on this, MY “Climb”. Seeking to move mountains. “HOPING”… to, somehow, make a difference…
GO TEAM!!! WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!!!
P.H.P., folks. People Helping People.
Give the BEST of yourself for “JUST” today… “EVERY” day!!!
ALL GLORY BE TO GOD!!! AMEN.
